Fishing Olympic Peninsula Rivers

The Olympic Peninsula is legendary for its wild Steelhead and Salmon runs, and I love guiding trips on these iconic rivers. These systems offer a different kind of fishing experience – often more remote, with stunning natural beauty and the chance to hook truly wild fish. We'll be fishing in clear, fast-flowing waters that are the perfect habitat for aggressive Steelhead and powerful Salmon.

Fall and winter are prime time for Steelhead on the Olympic Peninsula, with multiple species and runs providing action throughout the colder months. Summer and fall also bring Salmon, including Coho and Chinook, to these waters. The wild nature of these fish means you're in for a challenging and rewarding fight. Sturgeon are not typically targeted in these smaller river systems.

Trips to the Olympic Peninsula rivers involve a drive from my home base on the Columbia, but the destination is well worth it. We'll focus on techniques like drift fishing, swinging flies, or using specialized bait presentations to entice these wary, wild fish. Expect a day immersed in the incredible natural landscape of the Peninsula, with the thrill of pursuing some of the best wild Steelhead and Salmon fishing the Pacific Northwest has to offer.
